Our Story
For Sanam, barbari was never just food. It was the warm, sesame-topped loaf on the breakfast table, torn and shared with feta and walnuts, drizzled with honey, layered into sandwiches, eaten morning, noon, and night. Barbari is a staple in Iran — simple, versatile, and always present. It can be dressed up or down (just like a fitted tee)! During COVID, when the world felt uncertain and far apart, Sanam’s family learned to make barbari at home. They gathered around a fire to cook it together—hands dusted with flour, laughter mixing with smoke, the first tear of fresh bread feeling like a small return to something steady. In the middle of a global crisis, that ritual brought them closer. It still helps her feel close to Iran, especially during painful, trying times. Barbari the brand carries that same spirit. Our clothes feature Persian-rooted designs that are fun, familiar, and bold—bringing nostalgia into the now. Like the bread, they’re made to be dressed up or down: worn out, layered, styled your way, and lived in.
Food and fashion keep culture alive—baked into memory, stitched into story, and passed forward <3 .
